Blue Origins Working with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman & Draper for Lunar Lander

Today, Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO and founder of Blue Origins, announced the plans for the Space company. Jeff Bezos announced that Blue Origins would work with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman & Draper for building the futuristic Lunar Lander and orbiter. The new landing system will be able to accommodate humans and transport them back and forth from the Moon. In his speech at 70th International Astronautical Congress in Washington, D.C., Jeff Bezos shared the vision and plans for the company, with the same announcement.

According to Jeff Bezos, the company is currently working with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman & Draper for Lunar Landing system. The company has put together a national team to work on the project efficiently. President Donald Trump had asked the NASA officials to land the humans on Moon by the end of 2024. NASA has acted on the orders from the president and started working on the Artemis program. Blue Origins is working to develop the new Lunar Landing system with the ability to transport humans back and forth. The company will target the Artemis Space program to supply the Lunar Landing Module.

In this contract of the Lockheed Martin, Blue Origins and Northrop Grumman & Draper, Blue Origins is the primary contractor. The company will provide the base Lunar Lander and others will work with the development. Blue Origins will also handle the mission assurance and mission management, overlooking the project. Lockheed Martin will work on the space vehicle that will bring the astronauts back on earth. Northrop Grumman will provide the vehicle that will place the Lunar Lander vehicle back in return transit lunar orbit. In the end, Draper, the Cambridge, Massachusetts research and development organization will provide the flight avionics and the new descent guidance system for all of the modules of the project.
